The most frequent characters at the end of word tokens, counted case-insensitively and weighted by token frequency. Three n-gram sizes are shown: single characters (unigrams), two-character endings (bigrams) and three-character endings (trigrams). The dash indicates the open left edge of each n-gram. Linguistic Insights
Rhyme carriers and orthographic coda
Word-final n-grams constitute end rhyme, and the top trigrams form a direct inventory of dominant rhyme sounds. Concentrated rankings point to formulaic rhyme styles; phonetically diverse rankings may indicate more craft-intensive structures. A caveat specific to song lyrics: German word endings often encode grammatical categories (βen, βe, βt), but Schwa reduction in sung performance frequently drops word-final -e.

Word-final character n-grams are the acoustic units that constitute end rhyme. The top ending trigrams form a direct inventory of the dominant rhyme sounds in each archive, providing a quantitative basis for rhyme analysis. Comparing archives reveals whether rhyme patterns are concentrated in a few high-frequency endings or phonetically diverse.
